Both the paper and PLA lining are made entirely from renewable resources that can be grown again and again. The cups are lined with PLA, a plant-based bioplastic. Compostable, renewable, good looking and functional. You couldn't ask for a better fit.
Traditional hot cups are lined with petroleum, the world's most valuable, non-renewable resource. Polylactic acid (PLA) or "corn plastic" is made from annually renewable resources, not oil. These Hot Cups are compostable in commercial compost facilities, and not designed for composting in your backyard pile. Compost is a great way to improve vital soil resources and divert waste that would otherwise be landfilled.
